The Pompigan stone can be used in vertical sections,
surging and or pier sections. This stone withstands
alpine weather conditions and is ideal for coatings,
flagging, In or outdoor staircases.
A complete and wide range of finished cuts are
available (rough polished, polished, flamed,
tooled, bouchardée). Mainly used by decorators
or in restaurants in thin cuts with a polished
or flamed finishing.
The Pompignan stone is a grey limestone varying
to the batadère colour according to layers,
with a fine compact second era grain, from the
inferior cretaceous and Berrasian stage. One
of its specifications is the presence of stylothites
or small teeth like notches of various sizes,
bound by horizontal lines. Theese stylothites
give to the stone additional aesthetic value.
The stone poishes well; keeps the ridge, does
not chip, or weather with frost. The Pompignan
stone keeps unimpaired and stays unaffected
by air or water.
The layer formations simplifies or extraction
processes. This is done with a diamond cutting
edge either vertically or horizontally : allowing
us to extract blocs sizing from 3 to 6 cubic
metrers. Larger blocs could be realised.
Actual annual production is 500M3 but we have
the capacity to easily double that amount.
Complete detailed technical charts and or stone
samples are available on demand.
All weather use.
